What a lovely day that was! How wonderful for the full orchestra to get lost in a whole day of music-making, especially after a break of a year.
It was fun and relaxed, with lots of playing, and it was also a great opportunity to socialise and get to know the rest of the orchestra, including our newest members.
In the morning session our director Chris Morgan focused on the repertoire for our next Winter Family Concert on 3rd December: Tchaikovsky – Symphony No.5; J Strauss II – Radetzky March; Abreu – Tico Tico.
The afternoon session was run by Laura Parfitt, who directed us extremely well through Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.5 – possibly a future programme item?
